Austin Airport’s Growth Continues: New International Hub Opens
The growth Austin, Texas has seen is nothing short of remarkable. With more and more people coming to the area, expansion has become a top priority for the city. The Austin Airport is no exception.
The Austin Airport's New International Arrivals Area
According to KXAN, International Arrivals has received an upgrade. It's grand debut was Wednesday, June 18th, 2025. Here is what's new for the area, per the airport itself:
- 20,000 Square Feet of space for lines
- More booths to help process incoming International Passengers
- New offices for Customs and Border Protection
Also, a statement was provided to KXAN from an ABIA spokesperson about the new addition:
“The project represents an investment of approximately $13.8 million, funded through traditional airport development sources, including airport cash reserves, current and future airport revenues, future revenue bond proceeds, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants."

However, this isn't the only thing that's coming to the airport. There's a lot still being worked on.
What Else Is Being Working On For ABIA?
A second concourse, named Concourse B, is currently under construction. A total of 20 new gates will be made available to Central Texas passengers and airlines. The estimated date for this area to be completed however is 2030, so work is still being done.
As previously reported, parking prices are going up at the airfield. A brand new garage, dubbed "The Yellow Garage" is being built at the time of writing. This parking area will take over the red garage, with the red garage area also being dismantled to create space for the yellow garage.
If new information is provided about new upgrades to the airport, we will have it here.
