West Texas A&M University Welcomes Dr. Ben Carson for an Inspiring Evening

West Texas A&M University in Canyon is offering the community a rare opportunity by bringing in another great speaker to raise funds.

What Is the Hill Institute at WT?

The Hill Institute was founded in October 2023 thanks to a donation from Cheryl and Alex Fairly. The Hill Institute is an interdisciplinary academy of researchers comprised of teachers and students.

According to WT President Dr. Walter Wendler, the mission of The Hill Institute is to examine and explore the importance and role of the 10 values in individual and civic life.

Who is Coming to Speak at WT for the Hill Institute?

On Saturday, October 27th, one of the original board members of the Hill Institute will be coming to the campus.  This original board member is not only a medical doctor and a pioneer in neurosurgery, but also a best-selling author, a former presidential candidate, and a former Cabinet Secretary.

If you haven't already guessed, Dr. Ben Carson will be coming to WT.

Dr. Ben Carson Comes to Canyon

Dr. Carson will deliver his talk, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. The event will take place at 6:30 pm at the First United Bank Center on the WT Campus.

Tickets for the event are $5 and can be purchased online here. Each guest will also receive a copy of The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family. The book was written by Dr. Carson and his wife, Candy.

The Hill Institute was named after WT's second president, J.A. Hill.
