We saw a lot of different recalls from grocery stores in Texas during 2024. Some were minor and easily fixable, while others were scary and deadly in some cases. Some of the products that were recalled weren't known by a lot of consumers.

Every now and then though, we saw a product that was incredibly popular and actually caused disruption for many. It wouldn't be 2024 if the year didn't end with one of those types of products, right?

Texas closed the year out with a bang when it came to recalled products. A stunning 32 different products were pulled of the shelves of grocery stores in December 2024, many of them more targeted and lesser known products.

The most surprising stat from all the recalled products was the amount of products that were pulled due to salmonella or E.coli fears. 12 of the different products yanked off shelves were pulled for one of those two things.

Not all of the products were food related. There were eye drops, nasal sprays, and some extended-release capsules. The last one had to be the most amusing one as it was said to contain some empty capsules.

Out of all the products recalled though, none were bigger than Lay's Potato Chips. When you're talking about a product that is widely consumed, this one has to top them all. Now, the good news is the price of chips has spiraled out of control and many are opting for cheaper options.

Doesn't mean they aren't still some of the most popular chips on the market. They were recalled for a "potential or undeclared milk allergen." Those with a dairy allergy could have found themselves in a very precarious spot had they consumed those chips.

Let's hope 2025 is a better year when it comes to recalls, we had too many in 2024.
