Jimmy Kimmel’s Suspension Ends—But Not in Amarillo
Five days ago, Disney/ABC made the decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel after comments he made regarding the death of Charlie Kirk. Tonight, he is returning to the airwaves...but he won't be in Amarillo.
The decision for him to be reinstated so quickly has drawn both praise and outrage, as the nation is decidedly split on the decision and on what Kimmel said to get suspended in the first place.

What Did Jimmy Kimmel Say
In case you've been living under a rock or simply don't pay attention to pop culture, Kimmel made a comment on his late-night show about the alleged suspect, Tyler Robinson.
He turned it political by saying that President Trump's supporters were “desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”
Why Did Kimmel Get Suspended
A lot of it was based on pressure from the FCC to pull Kimmel's show off the air. It wasn't because of any personal feelings or how the public may have viewed the comments; the FCC has clear rules about this sort of thing.
You are unable to make comments or create dialogue that is a clear attempt to "mislead" the public, and the FCC felt his comments did exactly that. Under pressure from the FCC, Disney/ABC ultimately decided to suspend Kimmel and stop airing his show indefinitely.
Will Jimmy Kimmel Be On In Amarillo
While Jimmy Kimmel will be back on the air Tuesday night with his suspension lifted, he will NOT be seen in Amarillo, as well as many other markets.
The parent company of ABC here in Amarillo, Sinclair Broadcasting, has stated that they will be replacing Jimmy Kimmel's time slot with news programming and will not air Kimmel's show. This is an indefinite time period, and they have not given any timeframe as to when he may return to the air, if ever.
Here are all the places Jimmy Kimmel will not be seen in the United States.
