They say everything is bigger in Texas and this upcoming Saturday, Texas Tech is looking to set the world record using a "newer" piece of technology during Saturday's football game.

Texas Tech to Host a Record-Breaking Drone Show Saturday

Texas Tech football kicks off the season on Saturday, August 30, at home against  Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 6:30 p.m. Jones AT&T Stadium should be rocking as it's the first game of the season and Texas Tech is ranked and expected to have a successful season. It's possible this team will even challenge to win the Big 12.

So there is excitement in the air in Lubbock. Also in the air on Saturday? Drones.

Texas Tech is plan on setting the record for the most drones used during a drone show over a college football game. The record-breaking drone show will come during the game on Saturday and you won't want to miss what fans in the stands will get to see above the stadium.

Drone Shows Gaining In Popularity

Texas Tech Football has utilized drone shows before, including last year during a home game. Drone shows are pretty awesome to see in person and they are popping up now across the nation.

In fact, this past July 4th holiday, the City of Wolfforth used drone during their July 4th celebration.

We don't know yet when the drone-show will occur or how many times fans will see the drones, but we do expect to be impressed. Texas Tech posted on Facebook that the record-setting drone show will use over 950 drones.

That seems like a lot. Get your tickets if you haven't already.
