Sundaze Festival Brings Lubbock Idol Competition To Life
A New Tradition in the Hub City
Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 21st, because something brand new is coming to the South Plains. 4-Park Productions is hosting Sundaze Festival: Lubbock Idol Edition, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest music events of the fall! From 3 to 8 p.m., it’s all about live music, great food, and celebrating homegrown talent.
Lubbock Idol Kicks Things Off
The afternoon begins with the very first-ever Lubbock Idol competition from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Fifteen of the area’s best up-and-coming artists will hit the stage, battling it out for some amazing prizes. Winners will score studio time, chances to open at iconic venues like the Cactus Theater, and even a featured slot at the 4-Park Spring Festival.

Think you’ve got the voice to win it all? Registration is still open—but don’t wait, there are only a few spots left. The deadline to sign up is September 17th - that's Wednesday!
Big Performances from Big Names
Once the Idol competition wraps, the night kicks into high gear with back-to-back performances you won’t want to miss. At 5 p.m., Nashville’s own Zachariah Smith—a finalist from American Idol Season 21—takes the stage. Then, at 6:30 p.m., one of Lubbock’s favorite artists, Will Banister, keeps the energy rolling with his brand-new chart-climbing singles.
Food, Fun, and Community
But this isn’t just about the music. The whole Sundaze Festival vibe is about bringing people together. You’ll find food trucks, drink vendors, shopping, games, and more than 30 local small businesses on-site.

Tickets are just $20, with an optional $10 cooler tag if you’d like to BYOB. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and even the pups. There’s also a large community canopy with tables and chairs if you’d rather just show up and relax.
