Amazon Semi Crashed in Texas, Were Your Orders Inside?

If you’ve been checking your tracking number and wondering where your Amazon package is, it might have taken a detour off the highway.

Early Monday morning, a semi-truck carrying Amazon packages crashed on Interstate 20 near Rabbit Creek in Texas after the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.

The Truck Flipped Into a Culvert

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Amazon truck was heading west around 2 a.m. when it hit a concrete barrier and flipped over, landing upside down in a nearby drainage culvert.

Emergency crews responded quickly, and the driver was flown to the hospital by helicopter as a precaution. Fortunately, the driver was evaluated and released with no serious injuries.

Packages Were Damaged, Not Lost on the Road

Officials say the truck was heavily damaged, and packages were thrown from the trailer during the crash. While they didn’t spill out onto the interstate, the damage was significant enough that three large dumpster bins were brought to the scene to help clean up the wreckage.

Authorities didn’t specify what items were inside the trailer, but if your delivery status suddenly changed or hasn’t updated, it’s possible your order was involved.

I-20 Reopened by Late Afternoon

Cleanup efforts closed part of I-20 for several hours. The road finally reopened around 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

Amazon hasn’t released a list of affected shipments, but if your recent order is showing unexpected delays, especially if you live in Texas or nearby, this incident may be the reason. Big accidents like this can slow things down for a little while, but most packages are replaced or sent again soon.
