Students Thrive at Texas School With No Teachers
A private Texas school is taking AI to the next level and the students are thriving.
Alpha School in Austin, Texas has replaced traditional teachers with Artificial Intelligence. At Alpha School, kids spend just two hours a day on academics, guided by an AI tutor who personalizes every lesson.
The results? These students are testing in the top 1 to 2% nationally.
"We use an AI tutor and adaptive apps to provide a completely personalized learning experience," said Alpha co-founder MacKenzie Price during an interview on Fox & Friends.

Not everything is AI, there are still adults in the classroom but in a different role. Instead of having teachers, there are "guides" in the school who focus on providing coaching and emotional support.
"Our students are learning faster. They’re learning way better. In fact, our classes are in the top 2% in the country," Price said.
After the short academic block, students spend the rest of the day building real-world skills like public speaking, teamwork, and entrepreneurship. One teen is already building an AI dating coach and even got featured in The Wall Street Journal for it.
Alpha School currently operates in Austin and Brownsville, with seven more campuses opening by Fall 2025. Enrollment is intentionally small but the price for this innovative type of academic comes at a hefty price. Tuition averages $40K–$50K, though some locations are subsidized.
