The Viral 12-Foot Skeleton Is Now a Thanksgiving Turkey
Halloween is long gone, but some decorations are so much of a commitment that they’re displayed year-round.
The viral 12-foot skeleton is the ultimate Halloween decoration that’s slowly taking over Thanksgiving and Christmas. The giant skeleton is treated like a long-term investment because it kind of is. The 12 foot decoration typically comes with a $300 price tag and is often sold out at Home Depot.
When you drop that kind of money at Home Depot, you’re committing. It’s no longer a decoration, that’s a financial asset. Now, people are getting creative to better stretch the cost per use.
A photo making the rounds shows someone in town who dressed their skeleton up as a full Thanksgiving turkey; feathers, outfit, the whole thing.
That’s the move now. These things are too expensive to get 30 days of use and then shove back into a shed. So people are putting theirs to work. Even in Victoria, you can find 12 foot skeletons in December.
This is a year-round decoration. Goodbye Cupid, the Valentine’s skeleton is the new love icon.
It’s less “Halloween décor” at this point and more
If you’ve got a 12-footer, keep dressing it up. You don’t retire an investment this big. You repurpose it.
