Looks like on Monday if you live near the sirens on Huntington Lane and Kiel Road, as well as Wellington Lane and Reilly Road (FM 3492). They will be doing a prolonged test. The reason for this test in these areas is because they have less homes. However, if you live here, you will probably be wondering what the hell is going on. No need to panic, they're running the following tests.

Why Does the City of Wichita Falls Do Monthly Testing?

Audible testing is necessary to ensure the proper operation of the entire system. Also the city will never run a test if severe weather is in the area that day as to not confuse people of a possible real alert. The city has 59 sirens in total and running these tests ensures they're properly working when a real emergency takes place. You can read more on potential weather emergencies on the city website.
