Welcome To Texas, Where Your Morning Coffee Could Lead To A DUI
Coffee lovers, listen up!
Did you know that too much caffeine could land you in jail for a DUI?
I know it sounds completely insane, but it's true.
Check out a viral video circulating on TikTok. It could explain some of your questions, or leave you more confused...likely depending on whether or not you've had a cup of joe this morning...
You're probably thinking, "Don't we have bigger problems in Texas than being too caffeinated?"
The answer to that question is a resounding "Yes."
Look, it's not something that happens regularly or anything, so don't start sweating yet, BUT, caffeine is considered a mood-altering substance, and if it's found to have impaired your ability to drive properly, you could find yourself behind bars.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, nobody has ever been given a DUI for drinking too much coffee, so we are probably pretty safe. The hustle and bustle of Fort Worth has people hooked up to IVs of the stuff.
A cup here or there ain't going to hurt you. If you're overly sensitive to caffeine, though, you might get yourself in trouble. Cool your jets when you hit up Starbucks in the morning tomorrow...
Am I going to drink less coffee now? No.
Less coffee = a world I don't want to live in.
Like most of you, I'm going to take my chances and just roll with it. I've been getting away with drinking MAD coffee behind the wheel for years, and I have no plans on stopping.
COME AND GET ME, COPPERS!
What do you think about it all? Silly, huh? Drop me a comment below this article or shoot me an email to Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com if you've been drinking (coffee) and driving like a mofo, too. Then, keep scrolling through the galleries below for other silly Texas-related stuff...
