A new text scam happening in Victoria.

In Victoria and probably elsewhere, a new text scam is occurring. It's a text coming from the "City of Victoria Municipal Court" demanding payment for traffic citations. The City of Victoria has addressed these texts advising residents that they do send text reminders about court. However, they will never "demand immediate payment or use threatening language."

How does the court notify of court dates?

If you have a pending court date, you could be notified by mail, email, and text. The court may also leave voicemails. Read the full press release.
