Uncle of Former Texas Tech Baseball Player Bo Altobelli Dies in Helicopter Crash With Kobe Bryant

Texas Tech Baseball offered thoughts and prayers to former player Bo Altobelli on Sunday, after members of his family were killed in the same helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant.

The LA Daily News reports that Southern California community college baseball coach John Altobelli was also killed in that crash. Altobelli died along with his wife and daughter, who played on the same basketball team as Bryant's daughter.

Texas Tech baseball posted this offering condolences to Bo, John's nephew who played at Texas Tech from 2010 to 2012:

Bo is now an assistant with the Midland College Baseball team.
