The Red Raiders won their first two Big 12 games on the schedule and are now inside the top ten for the first time this season after stalling out at 10 earlier in the year. The Red Raiders are the second highest rated Big 12 team at number eight trailing only Kansas who fell to number seven after a loss this weekend.

The Big 12 also has Iowa State, Oklahoma and TCU cracking the top 25 at 20, 23 and 25 respectively. The University of Texas is also in the hunt for an AP top 25 spot after notching their third win in a row.

So there are alot of good teams in the Big 12, so what? That isn't new.

For Texas Tech specifically, the top ten ranking is awesome but ultimately meaningless, just ask Kansas who's season outlook is bleak-ish for the first time in the last 15 years with the news that Dok Azubuike is out for the rest of the season.

With the news of Azubuike the Big 12 conference just got wide open, especially since Dok is the second big man to be lost for the Jayhawks this season. Texas Tech, Oklahoma, TCU, Iowa State and Texas are all that much closer to now ending Kansas' Big 12 championship that was bolstered last season by an injury to Texas Tech star Keenan Evans.

The Red Raiders get back on the court Tuesday against the 23rd ranked Sooners in Lubbock at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN News, and even though this game already felt huge, it's even bigger now between two teams that are undefeated in Big 12 play and in the top 25.

These are games that win the Big 12 and it's at home. Burn the boats.
